Holyhead Wreck Lectures (and the bloke from Eastenders!)
This weekend saw a group of CSAC members make the trip to the ‘Boston Centre Stage’ venue for the annual Holyhead Wreck Lectures. This years speakers included our very own Chris Holden, who was giving a talk on the Leinster Wreck Project.
There were also a few celebrity faces amongst the crowd, including the bloke from Eastenders who used to be in The Bill!
I had an additional reason for going to the lectures this year, I was picking up my Kowalski torch for getting an article published in Ron Mahoney’s “Beyond the Blue” magazine. Ron was presenting a talk on our very own U-Who’s in the Irish Sea. Other well known speakers included Innes McCartney & Rex Cowan.

Our very own Chris Holden presented his talk on Friday evening on the Leinster project. It was a very interesting talk about the reason for the project and the dives carried out so far.

There were a number of photographs, videos and artifacts on show over the two days. One ancient artifact that was on show was our very own Paul Wynne-Jones.

All in all it was a very enjoyable two days! One final photo for you - just before this picture was taken a voice shouted out: “HEY HANDSOME!” Come on Mark! She obviosuly meant me!?
